Join the Michelle Leo Events Internship Program: Your Gateway to a Career in Event Planning
At Michelle Leo Events (MLE), we know that event planning is about more than what you can learn in a classroom. Success in this industry comes from hands-on experience, strong professional relationships, and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations. That’s why we created the MLE Internship Program: to provide aspiring event planners with real-world exposure that simply can’t be replicated in a traditional academic setting.
Why We Started the Michelle Leo Events Internship Program
The MLE Internship Program was designed to give students and aspiring planners opportunities to:
Experience the Industry Firsthand: Be immersed in live events, gaining insight into vendor coordination, event-day problem-solving, and flawless execution.
Build Relationships: Networking is vital in event planning. Interns collaborate with top local vendors, clients, and our seasoned team to lay the foundation for their future careers.
See It All Come Together: Interns experience the full lifecycle of events, from setup and design to striking at the end of the night.
We believe that by exposing our interns to environments and relationships they can’t build in a classroom, we’re helping them take the first step toward becoming exceptional event planners.
What You’ll Gain From the Program
This is a hands-on learning opportunity like no other. Interns commit to part-time hours (primarily on weekends) and benefit by:
Shadowing MLE Event Planners: Learn directly from one of Utah’s most celebrated planning teams.
Collaborating with Top Local Vendors: Build and strengthen your professional network by working alongside industry leaders.
Developing Real-World Problem-Solving Skills in Real-Time During Events: Develop critical thinking skills under pressure and gain confidence handling challenges during live events.
Witnessing the Full Event Process from Setup to Strike: Understand the comprehensive workflow of event execution.
Commitment & Requirements
To make the most of this opportunity, interns are required to:
Work a Minimum of Two Events per Month: Stay actively involved throughout the internship.
Complete at Least Six Events within MLE’s Event Season: Gain diverse experience across multiple events.
Commit to a Four- to Six-Month Internship Term: Dedicate time to fully immerse yourself in the learning process.
Most events occur on Saturdays. Please note that internships are unpaid; however, college credit may be earned with proper documentation from your university.
